 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
_________________________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains an operational test, a system test and a tank component test for the fuel quantity indicating system (FQIS).
 (1)  
The operational test contains these tests:

 (a)  
Fuel Quantity Indication System Ground Test (CMC)

 (b)  
Refuel Control Panel BITE.

 (2)  
The system test contains these tests:

 (a)  
Fuel Quantity Indication System Ground Test (CMC)

 (b)  
Wet Tank Capacitance Test

 (c)  
Dry Tank Capacitance Test

 (d)  
Indicated Fuel Quantity and Measured Fuel Quantity Comparison Test.

 (3)  
The tank component test for the fuel quantity indicating system contains these test:

 (a)  
Tank Unit and Compensator Test at the Fuel Tank Wall (spar connector)

 (b)  
Tank Unit and Compensator Test at the Fuel Quantity Processor Unit (FQPU)

 (c)  
Densitometer Fault Isolation Test at the Tank Wall (spar connector)

 (d)  
Densitometer Fault Isolation Test at the FQPU

 B.  
During maintenance in the area of the wing leading edge, install the safety locks on the leading edge flaps if they are extended.

 2.  Fuel Quantity Indicating System Operational Test________________________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  
The operational test for the fuel quantity indicating system (FQIS) does these tests:

 (a)  
The CMC ground test for the FQIS which includes a check of these LRUs: 1) Fuel quantity processor unit 2) Input/output cards 3) Individual fuel quantity channel cards (IFQC)

Preconditions

 (1)  
These conditions are necessary for this task:

 (a)  
Fuel Quantity Indication System (FQIS) serviceable.

 (b)  
The procedures in this task require different fuel quantity configurations. 1) The CMCS ground test, <FUEL QUANTITY IND, can be done with


 dry tanks or wet tanks, however, fuel is necessary to do a test of the densitometer and compensator density functions.
 2)  To do a complete ground test of the densitometers and compensators, make sure the densitometers/compensators are fully covered with fuel.
