(1)
Do a check of the replacement pump discharge check valve.
(a)
If a pin is installed in the discharge check valve, no further maintenance action is necessary.
(b)
If a pin is not installed in the discharge check valve, then install a pin (AMM/28-31-11/401).
NOTE: This is the preferred method to plug the drain hole.

(c) If a pin is not installed, the clamp and seal can be used to plug the drain hole (AMM 28-31-11/401).

On the outside of the tank do these steps:
(a)
Clean the mating surface of the spar where the bolts go through the spar (AMM 20-11-14/701).
(b)
Prepare the contact areas of the bonding jumpers and the mating surfaces of rear spar at the mounting bolt locations for an electrical surface bond (SWPM 20-20-00) (View B thru E).

On the inside of the tank, do these steps:
(a)
Clean the mating surfaces of the spar and the housing flange (AMM 20-11-14/701).
(b)
Apply petrolatum to the housing O-ring.
(c)
Install a new O-ring in the groove on the override/jettison pump housing.

(d) Hold the override/jettison pump housing in its position in the tank.
(4) S 434-016Do these steps to attach the housing to the rear spar: (a) Install the mounting bolts and washers. (b) Install the cleaned bonding jumpers, mounting bolts and washers (SWPM 20-20-00).
NOTE:____ The bonding jumper should mate directly to the rear spar.
(c) (d) (e) AIRPLANES WITH LOCKWIRE PROVISIONS; Install lockwire on the mounting bolts.Evenly torque the mounting bolts.Apply a cap seal of BMS5-142 to the mounting bolt heads and the bonding jumper terminals.
NOTE:____ For this application, BMS5-95 Type 1 can be used as an alternate sealant.
(f) Apply these protective finishes to any cleaned areas of the rear spar that are not covered by the bonding jumper terminal(s) or cap seal: 1) Alodine 600 (AMM 51-21-04/701) 2) BMS 10-20 Type II primer (AMM 28-11-00/801)
(5) S 434-018Put a new O-ring, lightly lubricated with petrolatum, into the coupling.
