(1)
Put the measuring stick (1), with the head (8) removed, into the housing.

Install the guide (2), spring (3), and retainer (4) in the housing and hold in position.

Install a new gasket (5) and seal (7) in the socket (6).

With the installation tool, turn the socket (6) in the mounting base until the socket (6) aligns with the tank lower surface or access door.

Lower the measuring stick (1).

Install the head (8) on the measuring stick (1).

Lift the measuring stick (1) to its initial position.

Push and turn the head (8) clockwise in the socket (6) to lock the measuring stick (1).

FUEL MEASURING STICK HOUSING - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains tasks to remove and install the housing of the fuel measuring stick.
(1)
There are different tasks to remove and install a housing on an access door or a housing in the lower wing.
B.
To make the identification of the housings easier, the housings numbers agree with the measuring stick numbers.
C.
The mounting base holds the housing at the bottom.
(1)
For housings No. 17 and 24, the mounting based is canted.
(2)
For housings No. 17, 19, 20, 24, the top ends of the housing are held by clamps attached to the upper wing structure.
(3)
Housing No. 22 does not have a top support bracket.
(4)
Housings No. 18, 21, 23, 33 and 34 are installed in access doors and are removed with the access doors.
(5)
Housing No. 18 has a guide at the top end of the housing.
