 (c)  Remove and replace the densitometer or repair the wire bundle connections to the densitometer (AMM 28-41-11/401).

 (15) Turn the DENSITOMETER switch through the positions R1 through R8.
 NOTE: The DENSITY BAD indicator light will come on when the
____ DENSITOMETER switch is in the R1-R8 positions. This does not show that the densitometer is BAD.

 Stop for a short time at each position to see if the R1-R8 GOOD/BAD indicator lights come on.

 Put the DENSITOMETER switch to the OFF position to complete the test.

 Find out if the densitometer system operates correctly:

 (a)  
If the indication is GOOD with the switch in the DENSITY and R1 thru R8 positions at the FQPU M7860, and the densitometer connector at the tank wall, the densitometer system operates correctly.

 (b)  
If the indication is BAD with the switch in the DENSITY or R1 thru R8 positions, there is a problem with the densitometer system. 1) If the densitometer is BAD when you do the test at the FQPU

 M7860, and also BAD at the densitometer connector at the tank wall, the problem is in the fuel tank.
 2)  If the densitometer is BAD at the FQPU M7860, but GOOD at the densitometer connector at the tank wall, the problem is in the densitometer wiring between the densitometer connector at the tank wall and the FQPU M7860.
 (c)  Replace or repair these items to correct the densitometer problem: 1) FQPU, M7860 (AMM 28-41-13/401) 2) Fuel densitometer (AMM 28-41-11/401) 3) Densitometer in-tank wire bundle (AMM 28-41-09/401) 4) Airplane densitometer wire bundle between the FQPU M7860,
 and the densitometer connector at the tank wall (SSM 28-41-03, SSM 28-41-04, SSM 28-41-05, WDM 28-41-21, WDM 28-41-22, WDM 28-41-23, WDM 28-41-24).
