8. Fuel Jettison Simulation - Ground Test______________________________________
A. General
(1)
The fuel jettison simulation ground test does an operational test of the fuel jettison system display on the fuel synoptic.
(2)
To get a jettison flow display on the fuel synoptic, jettison mode must be active. Jettison mode is active when:
(a)
The jettison control selector switch is in the A or B position

(b)
The left or right fuel jettison nozzle valve(s) are open
(c)
The fuel to remain fuel quantity is less than the total fuel quantity.
(3)
It is important that the jettison nozzles valves remain closed during this procedure. This procedure removes power to the jettison nozzle valves and provides a nozzle valve open signal to the valve position logic cards to simulate an open jettison nozzle valve. If the nozzle valves are actually open, fuel pressurized by the jettison pumps can flow out of the wing tips at the jettison nozzles.
