 I. Densitometer Test (at the tank wall)
 S 655-173
 (1)  
Make sure the fuel level is fully above the densitometers (transfer or add fuel if it is necessary) (AMM 12-11-01/301, AMM 28-26-00/201).

 (2)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
On the main power distribution panel, P6:
 1) 6D5, FUEL QTY 1
 2) 6D6, FUEL QTY 2


 (b)  
On the DC power distribution panel, P180:
 1) 180M9, FUELING PWR - HOT BAT
 2) 180C25, FUELING LTS PANEL
 3) 180C26, FUELING LTS RECP


 (c)  
On the left power distribution center, P414:
 1) 414F22, FUELING PWR

 (3)  
Find the location of the densitometer connector that is to be tested (SSM 28-41-01).

 (a)  
The densitometer connectors for the main tanks are found on the front spar (left and right) next to the wing to fuselage fairing (access door 511FB or 611FB).

 (b)  
The densitometer connector for the center wing tank is found on the rear spar in the left wheel well for the wing landing gear.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LEADING
_______ EDGE AND TRAILING EDGE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (4)  If it is necessary to test the densitometer connectors on the front spar (for the main tanks) extend the inboard leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 WARNING: REFER TO AMM 27-81-00/201 FOR LOCK INSTALLATION PROCEDURE.
_______ FLAPS WILL RETRACT IN 7 SECONDS. INSTALL LOCKS TO PREVENT INJURY FROM INADVERTENT OPERATION OF FLAPS.
 (5)  Install the locks on all the extended leading edge flaps
 (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 (6)  Open access doors 511FB (left wing) or 611FB (right wing) to get to the front spar densitometer connectors.

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (7)  
Do these tasks if it is necessary to test the densitometer connector for the center wing tank (AMM 32-00-30/201):

 (a)  
Installation of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear.

 (b)  
Installation of the Door Locks on the Body Landing Gear.

 (8)  
On the PSD747-2 test set, make sure the DENSITOMETER switch is set to the OFF position.

 (9)  
Disconnect the applicable densitometer connector at the tank wall.

 (10)
 Connect the test equipment.

 (a)  
Use the PSD747-23 interconnect cable and connect the densitometer connector at the tank wall with the PSD747-2 SIGNAL connector (Fig. 507).


 NOTE: Make sure you attach the PSD747-2 test set to the
____ aircraft ground. You could cause stray capacitance values if you do not connect the ground correctly.

 (11) Put the DENSITOMETER switch to the DENSITY position.
