7. Fuel Jettison Transfer Valves - Fuel Transfer Operational Test (Fig. 502)______________________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This task transfers fuel from one tank to another tank through the jettison transfer valves to make sure the valves are in the commanded position. This task also makes sure that the jettison transfer valve bodies and valve adapter shafts are installed correctly.
(2)
You can test one or all four of the jettison transfer valves in this procedure.
(3)
This procedure operates the fuel boost pumps in the inboard and outboard main tanks. Make sure the minimum and maximum fuel quantities called out in the prepare for the test procedure are available.
(4)
You must manually open the jettison transfer valves in this procedure. The transfer valves are located in the wheel wells for the main landing gear. Make sure to install the door locks on the landing gear doors.
