 (1) Close the access door to the refuel control panel (521CB).

 WARNING:_______REFER TO AMM 27-81-00/201 FOR LOCK REMOVAL PROCEDURE. FLAPS WILL RETRACT IN 7 SECONDS AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR EQUIPMENT.

Remove all of the leading edge flap safety locks, if they are not necessary (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Remove the electrical power if it is not necessary

 4.  Tank Component Test for the Fuel Quantity Indicating System___________________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This task contains procedures to isolate a tank unit, a compensator, or a densitometer failure.

 (2)  
This task contains these compensator and tank unit tests:

 (a)  
Compensator and Tank Unit Test (at the tank wall)

 (b)  
Compensator and Tank Unit Test (at the FQPU)

 (3)  
This task also includes these densitometer tests:

 (a)  
Densitometer Test (at the tank wall)

 (b)  
Densitometer Test (at the FQPU)

 (4)  
The test can isolate an FQIS problem to determine if the problem is in the tank or out of the tank. Make sure you do the test at the FQIS wire bundle connectors at the fuel tank walls (spar connector) and at the processor unit. This will make sure that maintenance is not done in the fuel tanks if it is not necessary.

 (5)  
This task uses a PSD60-1, PSD60-2 or PSD60-2R field calibration unit.

 (6)  
The test procedure measures all the tank units and the compensators capacitance values. The indicated values are compared with Tables given in the task. The test procedure also makes sure the densitometers in the aircraft fuel tanks operate correctly.

 (7)  
The compenstor and tank unit tests are done with dry tanks. The densitometer tests must be done with the densitometer fully covered with fuel.
