(c)
Center wing tank - minimum of 15,000 pounds (6800 kilograms) of fuel.

The No. 2 and 3 reserve tanks can contain some quantity of fuel.

Look at the fuel synoptic display.
(a)
Make sure the fuel boost pump symbols are white and the flow bars in the pump symbols do not show.

Do these steps to operate the forward boost pump for the No. 1 main tank.
(a)
Put the MAIN 1 FWD switch to the ON position.
(b)
Look at the light indication in the MAIN 1 FWD switch. 1) Make sure the amber PRESS indication light goes off. 2) Make sure the white ON indication light comes on.
(c)
Monitor the fuel synoptic.
1) Make sure the pump box symbol for the MAIN 1 forward boost pump changes color in this sequence: a) White (pump off) b) Amber (pump on - low pressure) (momentarily) c) Green (pump on - pressure)
(d)
After approximately 15 seconds, look at the main and auxiliary EICAS displays. 1) Make sure these EICAS messages do not show:
a) FUEL PRESS ENG 1 (caution)
b) FUEL PUMP 1 FWD (advisory)
c) FUEL PUMP 1 FWD (status)
(e)
Put the MAIN 1 FWD switch to the off position.
(f)
Look at the light indication in the MAIN 1 FWD switch. 1) Make sure the white ON indication light goes off. 2) Make sure the amber PRESS indication light comes on.
(g)
Monitor the fuel synoptic.
1) Make sure the pump box symbol for the MAIN 1 forward boost pump changes color in this sequence: a) Green (pump on - pressure) b) Amber (pump on - low pressure) (does not always show) c) White (pump off)
(h)
