 (2)  If it is necessary to manually open a main tank or reserve tank refuel valve, do these steps:
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE
_______ AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH THE HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (a)  Make sure persons and equipment are clear of the leading and trailing edge flaps.

_______ TRAILING EDGE FLAPS. ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (b)  Do the deactivation procedure for the trailing edge flaps (AMM 27-51-00/201).

 (3)  For the wing tanks, remove the applicable access door or panel to get access to the refuel valve control unit (Fig. 201, View B).
 NOTE: Refer to the subsequent table for the access data.

 E. Remove Pressure From the Refuel Manifold

 (1)  Do these steps at the P42 panel to remove the pressure from the refuel manifold:
 NOTE: You must remove the pressure from the refuel manifold before
____ you manually open a refuel valve. These steps are necessary if you have pressurized the refuel manifold during a refuel or transfer operation within the last 30 minutes.
 (a)  
Make sure the pressure fueling source is closed.

 (b)  
Put a wing tank refuel valve switch to the OPEN position.

 (c)  
Make sure the refuel valve switch operates electrically and the applicable fuel tank is not full (at VTO).

 (d)  
After the blue refuel valve light goes out, put the refuel valve switch to the closed position.

Manually Open the Refuel Valve

 CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE THE RETAINER PLATE LOCKWIRE, SCREWS, OR THE
_______ RETAINER PLATE. FUEL LEAKAGE CAN OCCUR AND CAUSE DAMAGE.
 (1)  Remove the lockwire from the manual operation knob.
