FUELING RECEPTACLE ADAPTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains instructions to remove and install the adapter for a refuel receptacle.
B. The refuel receptacle adapters are installed in the refuel nozzle connection end of the refuel receptacle. The refuel receptacles are at a location forward of the front spar in each wing.
C. If you open the refuel station access doors, you can get to the refuel receptacles.
D. If persons are in the area of the wing leading edge, make sure the safety locks are installed on all the extended leading edge flaps.

(1) Remove the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

WARNING: CAREFULLY DO ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES IN THE LOCK INSTALLATION
_______ PROCEDURE (AMM 27-81-00/201). MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE LOCKS TO PREVENT THE ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF THE FLAPS. THE FLAPS CAN QUICKLY RETRACT IN 7 SECONDS AND CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.

Install the leading edge flap safety locks if the flaps are extended (AMM 27-81-00/201).
(3)
Open the applicable refuel station access door, 521BB or 621BB.
(4)
Remove the refuel receptacle cap.

Remove the screws that attach the adapter to the receptacle (6 locations).

Remove the adapter and flange as one unit.

Discard the receptacle O-ring.

CAUTION:_______PUT PRESSURE AGAINST THE FLANGE WHILE YOU TURN THE FLANGE. THE FUELING RECEPTACLE ADAPTER IS SPRING-LOADED AND DAMAGE COULD OCCUR IF YOU DO NOT PUT PRESSURE AGAINST THE FLANGE.

Turn the flange in the counterclockwise direction to remove the flange from the adapter.

Discard the flange O-ring.
