ENGINE FUEL SHUTOFF (SPAR) VALVE ACTUATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks:
(1)
A task to remove the actuator for the engine spar valve.
(2)
A task to install the actuator for the engine spar valve.
B.
The engine fuel shutoff valve actuator will be referred to as the spar valve actuator in this procedure.
C.
Each main fuel tank contains one spar valve. The spar valve actuators are found on the front spar outside of the applicable main tank.
D.
AIRPLANES WITH PW OR RR ENGINES; The No. 1 and 4 spar valves are installed rotated 180 degrees compared to the No. 2 and 3 spar valves. The actuator, adapter shaft and valve body are all rotated in this 180 degree orientation. The TOP position marker on the adapter plate for the No. 1 and 4 engine spar valves must be on the bottom of the adapter plate.
