Monitor the fuel synoptic.


 1)  Make sure the valve symbol for the No. 1 crossfeed valve changes in this sequence: a) White - flowbars parallel with fuel-feed segments
 (valve open) b) Amber (valve in-transit) c) White - flowbars perpendicular with fuel-feed segments
 (valve closed)
 (h)  After approximately 15 seconds, look at the main and auxiliary EICAS display. 1) Make sure these EICAS messages do not show:
 a) FUEL X FEED 1 (advisory)
 b) FUEL X FEED 1 (status)

If it is necessary, do the steps again for these crossfeed valves:

 (a)  
No. 2 crossfeed valve

 (b)  
No. 3 crossfeed valve

 (c)  
No. 4 crossfeed valve

 (6)  Do these steps to test the automatic control of the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves.
 NOTE: After the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves are manually opened,
____ the open/close function of the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves are controlled by the fuel system management cards (FSMC). The FSMC uses flap position and air/ground inputs to supply the logic for the crossfeed close command.
 (a)  
Put these crossfeed valve switches (fuel system management module, M154) to the ON position: 1) FUEL X FEED 2 2) FUEL X FEED 3

 (b)  
Monitor the fuel synoptic.


 1)  Make sure the valve symbols for the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves change in this sequence: a) White - flowbars perpendicular with fuel-feed segments
 (valve closed) b) Amber (valve in-transit) c) White - flowbars parallel with fuel-feed segments
 (valve open)
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
_______ LEADING EDGE AND TRAILING EDGE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (c)  
Put the flap control lever to the 10 unit detent position to extend the flaps to the takeoff position (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 (d)  
Wait for 40 seconds.

 (e)  
After approximately 40 seconds, the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves will automatically close.


 NOTE: The valve flowbar light in the FUEL X FEED 2 and 3
____ switches will continue to show even when the crossfeed valves are in the closed position.
 (f)  Monitor the fuel synoptic.
 1)  Make sure the valve symbols for the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves change in this sequence: a) White - flowbars parallel with fuel-feed segments
 (valve open) b) Amber - (valve in-transit) c) White - flowbars perpendicular with fuel-feed segments
 (valve closed)

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE

Put the flap control lever to the UP detent position to fully retract the flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

 (h)  
The No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves will automatically open.

 (i)  
Monitor the fuel synoptic.


 1)  Make sure the valve symbols for the No. 2 and 3 crossfeed valves change in this sequence: a) White - flowbars perpendicular with fuel-feed segments
 (valve closed) b) Amber (valve in-transit) c) White - flowbars parallel with fuel-feed segments
 (valve open)
 (j)  
Put the FUEL X FEED 2 and 3 switches to the off position.

 1)  Make sure the amber VALVE indication lights come on and then go off.
