C. The refuel valve can be opened or closed manually by turning the valve override screw 10 to 13 complete revolutions in the direction indicated on the override screw retainer (clockwise to close/counterclockwise to open).
NOTE: Pressure must be removed from the fueling manifold prior to

manually operating the refuel valve.
6. Refueling Control Panel (Fig. 3)

A. The refueling control panel contains all the controls required for operation of the pressure fueling system. The panel is located in the left wing lower leading edge, outboard of the fueling receptacles. Three floodlights provide illumination for the area. The panel contains the following components:

Refuel Power Select Switch

The POWER switch provides the option to power the pressure fueling operation using the airplane battery via the battery bus or using external power via the ground handling bus.

Refuel Valve Control Switches and Position Indicator Lights
(a)
A control switch is provided for each fuel tank. When a switch is placed in OPEN position, power is supplied to the valve outlet solenoid(s) for that tank, driving it open and allowing fuel to flow through the valve(s) into the fuel tank. A valve position indicator light, one for each valve, illuminates to indicate that valve is open. Light operation can be checked by press-to-test.

Fueling Quantity Indicators and Indicator Test Switch
(a)
Fueling quantity indicators are installed on the refueling control panel to provide an indication of the fuel quantity in each tank. An indicator is also installed to provide indication of total fuel quantity on-board. For description of the fuel quantity indicating system, refer to AMM 28-41-00/001. The indicators for the center wing tank and total fuel quantity also show preselected fuel quantity on the lower display when preselect function is activated. The TEST GAGES switch is installed to test operation of the indicators.

Preselect Function Controls
(a)
A valve preselect control switch activates the preselect function. A preselect switch provides the option to select desired fuel quantity for the entire airplane or for the center wing tank only. Fuel quantity desired is set using the quantity thumbwheels.
