B. The crossfeed manifold has a fuel crossfeed line fuel flow limiting valve which compensates for differing pressures between the operating boost pumps. The valve allows normal crossfeed operation while restricting uneven fuel distribution from moderate differences of boost pump operating pressures which could result in an unbalanced fuel load.
3. Engine Fuel Shutoff Valve (Fig. 1)

A. Four engine fuel shutoff valves provide a means of shutting off the supply of fuel to the engines. The shutoff valves consist of a valve body installed in the fuel feed manifold, an electric motor-driven actuator installed on the forward side of the front spar, and an adapter shaft connecting the actuator with the valve body. Engine No. 1 and 4 valve actuator, adapter plate/shaft, and valve body are installed upside down (rotated 180 degrees) relative to engine No. 2 and 3 valve assemblies. Engine No. 1 and 4 valve orientation provides additional clearance for the valve actuator.
B. The shutoff valves are individually controlled by fire switches on the P5 pilots' overhead panel and by the fuel control switches on the control stand. Valve operation may be verified by monitoring action of manual override lever while power is delivered to the valve.
