 4. Fuel Boost Pumps - Insulation Resistance Check
______________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This task does an on-wing insulation resistance check of the boost pumps.

 (a)  
Do this task each time you install a boost pump (new or serviceable).

 (b)  
If the boost pump is removed for inspection and that boost pump is re-installed at the same location from which it was removed, then the insulation resistance (IR) inspection is not necessary.

 (2)  
When you use the QuadTech Type 1864 megohmmeter, it is recommended that the megohmmeter be insulated from any metal work stands. It is also recommended that protective clothing (rubber gloves, insulated shoes, etc.) be worn when you make these measurements. The megohmmeter should be plugged into a grounded receptacle to reduce the possibility of electrical shock.

 (3)  
An insulation resistance data sheet is provided (Fig. 403). Use the provided data sheet or an equivalent. It is not necessary to send the data sheets to Boeing.
