(b)
Move PRESELECT switch to TOTAL, and release. Observe that lower indicator display reads same quantity as selected with thumbwheels. If indicator display is blank, move and release switch again. Quantity will be set into indicator.
(c)
Set ALL VALVES switch to OPEN. Observe that all refuel valve position indicator lights illuminate. Refueling operation will begin.
NOTE: If the position indicator light for a reserve tank
____ fails to illuminate (valve remains closed), the tank must be refueled using the Inop Valve Mode. If one light for a main tank or center wing tank fails to illuminate, Preselect Mode may be used but time required for refueling will be increased.
(d)
When all refuel valve position indicator lights extinguish, set ALL VALVES switch to CLOSED.
(e)
Shut off fuel flow at fueling truck.
NOTE: Fueling manifold will remain pressurized for
____ approximately 1.5 hours after fuel flow is shut off at truck. The fueling manifold may be depressurized more rapidly by setting a refuel valve switch, for any tank that is not full to capacity, to the OPEN position. Manifold pressure will be relieved into selected tank.
(12)
If refueling tanks to less than capacity and preselect function is not activated (Manual Mode), proceed as follows:
(a)
If fuel measuring sticks are to be used for monitoring fuel quantity, determine measuring stick reading for desired fuel quantity using measurement correction data.

(b) Set refuel valve control switches to OPEN. Observe that position indicator light illuminates. Refueling operation will begin.
NOTE: If the position indicator light for a reserve tank fails
____ to illuminate (valve remains closed), the tank must be refueled using the Inop Valve Mode. If one light for a main tank or center wing tank fails to illuminate, Manual Mode may be used but time required for refueling will be increased.
(c)
Monitor fueling quantity indicator or measuring stick until desired quantity or reading is obtained.
(d)
Set refuel valve control switch to CLOSED.
(e)
If fuel measuring sticks were used, wait approximately 2 minutes, then recheck measuring stick reading. Adjust fuel quantity as required.
(f)
Shut off fuel flow at fueling truck.
NOTE: Fueling manifold will remain pressurized for
____ approximately 1.5 hours after fuel flow is shut off at truck. The fueling manifold may be depressurized more rapidly by setting a refuel valve switch, for any tank that is not full to capacity, to the OPEN position. Manifold pressure will be relieved into selected tank.
(13)
If refueling a tank with an inoperative refuel valve (Inop Valve Mode), proceed as follows:
(a)
Make sure that the fueling manifold is depressurized.
(b)
Remove lockwire from knurled knob of valve override screw.
NOTE: Do not remove retainer plate lockwire, screws, or
____
retainer plate.
(c) Turn override screw (knurled knob) 10-13 complete revolutions in counterclockwise direction.
NOTE: Pliers may be required to loosen override screw
____ initially and to overcome increasing poppet spring pressure as valve opens.
(d)
Pressurize fueling manifold and begin refueling operation.
(e)
Monitor fuel quantity using fueling quantity indicator or measuring sticks.
(f)
When desired fuel quantity is obtained, shut off fuel flow at fueling truck and verify fueling manifold is depressurized.
