Remove the fuel quantity indicators from the refuel control panel, P42 (AMM 28-41-04/401).

Remove the six bolts and washers that attach the refuel control panel to the two support brackets (Fig. 401).

Carefully lower the refuel control panel to get to the electrical connectors.

Disconnect all of the electrical connectors.

Attach tags to the electrical connectors to make sure the installation of the refuel control panel is easier.

Use a rotary bonding brush to clean the refuel control panel, P42, at the locations where the two bonding jumpers are installed (AMM 20-11-14/701).

Put and hold the refuel control panel near the location where the panel is to be installed.

Tighten the bolts, washers, nuts and bonding jumpers to the refuel control panel (Fig. 401).

Apply alodine to protect the aluminum that does not have a finish (SRM 51-20-01).

(5) S 414-019Install the electrical connectors (remove the identification tags).
(6) S 414-015Put the refuel control panel into the correct position.
(7) S 434-016Keep the electrical wires a minimum distance of 0.5 inches from the air duct.
(8) S 424-017Align the refuel control panel with the six support bracket nutplates.
(9) S 424-018Install the bolts and the washers (six locations).

Do a check of the bonding resistance between the refuel control panel and the airplane structure (AMM 20-22-01/601).

Make sure the resistance is not more than 0.010 ohms.
