Prepare for the Removal


 S 014-002
 (1)  
If you replace the forward boost pumps in the No. 1 or No. 4 main tank, remove the applicable boost pump access door, 545CB or 645CB.

 (2)  
If you replace the aft boost pumps in the No. 1 or No. 4 main tank, remove the applicable boost pump access door, 545DB or 645DB.

 (3)  
If you are to replace the No. 2 or 3 forward boost pumps do these steps:


 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
_______ LEADING EDGE AND TRAILING EDGE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (a)  Extend the inboard leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).
 WARNING: DO THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 27-81-00/201 TO INSTALL THE LOCKS.
_______ THE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (b)  Install the safety locks on leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).
 CAUTION: PUT A PLYWOOD SHEET OR EQUIVALENT ABOVE THE PRESSURE
_______ RELIEF PANEL ON THE WING INBOARD LEADING EDGE BEFORE YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE BOOST PUMP. DAMAGE TO THE PRESSURE RELIEF PANEL COULD OCCUR IF THERE IS NO PROTECTION.

 (c)  Put a plywood sheet above the pressure relief panel on the inboard leading edge.

 (4)  
If you are to replace the No. 2 or 3 aft boost pumps, do these steps:

 (a)  
Make sure the landing gear ground locks are installed.


 WARNING: USE THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 32-00-30/201 TO INSTALL THE DOOR
_______ LOCKS. THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE QUICKLY AND CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (b)  Install the wing and body gear door locks (AMM 32-00-30/201).

 (5)  
Open the applicable circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P180, DC Power Distribution Panel
 1) 180E4, FUEL BOOST PMP CONT AFT 1 & FWD 4
 2) 180E19, FUEL BOOST PMP CONT FWD 1 & AFT 4
 3) 180H4, FUEL BOOST PMP CONT AFT 2 & FWD 3
 4) 180H19, FUEL BOOST PMP CONT FWD 2 & AFT 3


 (b)
