Prepare to Remove Main Gear Side Strut

Make sure that all the landing gear ground lock pins are installed (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system (AMM 29-15-00/201).

Lift the airplane on jacks to remove the weight from the gear (AMM 07-11-11/201).

Remove the Main Gear Side Strut

(1)
Disconnect the main gear downlock sensor (5) (AMM 32-61-31/401).
(a)
Release all the cable connections from the side strut.
(b)
Remove the cable through the slot in the sensor bracket.
(c)
Wind all the cables into coils.
(d)
Use tape to keep the switch clear of the side strut.

Hold the inboard wing door and the side strut and remove the upper attachment bolt (4) of the side strut.
(3)
Remove the lower attachment bolt (9) of the lock strut.
(4)
Remove the higher half of the side strut (3).
