Put the damper bracket (2) in its position on the damper assembly (13), and the upper torsion link (1).

Install the damper bracket bolt that holds the damper
 bracket (2) to the damper assembly (13).


 (d)  
Install the damper attachment bolts (3) that hold the damper assembly (13), and the damper bracket (2) to the upper torsion link (1).

 (e)  Tighten the damper attachment bolts (3) to 180-220 inch-pounds.
 CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT THE LOCKWIRE TO GO BETWEEN THE TORSION LINK
_______ AND THE APEX THRUST WASHER. DAMAGE TO THE PARTS CAN OCCUR.
 (f)  Lockwire the damper attachment bolts (3), and the damper bracket bolt.

Put the thrust washer (10) on the damper shaft with the concave side of the thrust washer against the torsion link.

Make sure that the key in the washer engages the slot in the shaft.

 Make sure that the washer is correctly installed against the torsion link.

 Install the apex nut (8) on the damper shaft with the hexagon side to the thrust washer.

 Install the checknut (6) and tighten the checknut 50 to 100 pound-inches.

 (25) Operate the control lever of the landing gear from DN to UP then DN to charge the damper compensator.
 NOTE: This will make fluid available to bleed the damper.
