WARNING: USE NITRILE GLOVES FOR SKIN PROTECTION AGAINST BMS 3-27
_______ (MASTINOX 6856K). IF MASTINOX GETS ON YOUR SKIN, IMMEDIATELY REMOVE IT WITH WATER. IF THIS MATERIAL GETS IN YOUR EYES, IMMEDIATELY FLUSH YOUR EYES WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID. THIS MATERIAL CONTAINS VERY POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE AGENTS WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS.
CAUTION: REMOVE UNWANTED MASTINOX FROM SURFACES WHICH WILL BE
_______ LUBRICATED. IF YOU APPLY MASTINOX TO JOINTS THAT TURN, FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND OR RETRACT COULD OCCUR.
(1) Clean and lightly lubricate all the bolts, the washers, and the bushings with grease immediately before assembly.
NOTE:____ Apply a layer of Mastinox 6856K to parts which are not lubricated with grease after installation (AMM 12-21-11/301).
NOTE: Apply a layer of MIL-PRF-23827, or the preferred grease BMS
____ 3-33 to parts which are lubricated with grease after installation (AMM 12-20-00/301).

Put the lower drag strut (2) in position to align with the upper torsion link (9) and the shock strut lugs (8).

Install the upper torsion link bolt with the head inboard.

(4) S 434-016Install the washer and the nut.
(5) S 434-017Torque the nut to 100-180 pound-feet.
(6) S 434-018Loosen the nut to the nearest castellation (zero torque is allowable).
(7) S 434-019Install the cotter pin.

Apply Mastinox 6856K to the T-bolt assembly immediately before installation (AMM 12-21-11/301).

Put the lower drag strut (2) into position over the T-bolt assembly (4).

Add the washer and the nut.

Torque the nut 1200 to 1500 pound-inches.

Set the upper drag strut (1) in the lower drag strut fork (2).

Align the holes of the upper drag strut (1) with the holes of the lower drag strut fork (2).

Install the lower attachment bolt (5) with the head on the same side of the lower drag strut (2) with the anti-rotation lug.

Tighten the nut hand tight.

If it is necessary, loosen the nut to align the nearest slot with the cotter pin hole.

Lock the nut with the cotter pin.

Connect the bracket clamp (7) for the electrical harness.

Do a check on the hydraulic line connections for leaks.

Lower the airplane and remove the jacks (AMM 07-11-11/201).
