 C.  Three different and separate air/ground logic systems are used: nose gear ground sensing, main gear air sensing and main gear ground sensing. The relays are labled on the E-11 Shelf with the word AIR, NOSE or GROUND to specify the system to which each belongs. After identifying the system to which the failed relay belongs, an applicable trouble shooting chart can be selected from those which follow.
 D.  If multiple failures occur or if flight crews report failures which cannot be duplicated during ground test, moisture contamination of the E-11 Shelf may be the cause. Remove the E-11 Shelf cover and check for evidence of moisture contamination.
 E.  If multiple aircraft systems fail, there can be a problem with the Air/Ground system. Check the WDM to determine which Air/Ground relay is used by the failed aircraft system. Do this procedure to test the Air/ Ground relays and sensors.
 F.  All trouble shooting procedures are based on the assumption that wiring is intact and that electrical power is available. If the corrective action in the procedure does not correct the problem, check wiring using wiring diagram.
 CAUTION: USE THE PROCEDURE IN AMM 20-40-12 WHEN YOU REMOVE AND INSTALL THE
_______ COMPONENTS IN THE E-11 SHELF. THIS SHELF HAS CIRCUITS WHICH CAN BE DAMAGED BY STATIC ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE.
 2.  Prepare for Trouble Shooting

 A.  Make sure that the ground locks are installed on all the gear
 (AMM 32-00-01/201).

 B.  Make sure these circuit breakers on the P6 Panel are closed:
 (1)
LANDING GEAR NOSE STEERING AND AIR/GROUND

 (2)
LANDING GEAR LIGHTS

 (3)
LEVER LATCH AND PRESSURE WARNING

 C.  
Determine which relay on the E-11 Shelf has failed to switch as commanded during test and trouble shooting of interfacing system.

NOSE SENSING RELAY OTHER THAN R321 FAILED TO AIR MODE WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING INTERFACING SYSTEM - Check E-11 shelf to determine if LED above AIR SENSING test switch is illuminated. IF -
AIR SENSING LED IS ILLUMINATED - Check AIR SENSING LED IS NOT ILLUMINATED -that NOSE SENSING LED is illuminated. Feel for warm Nose Ground Sense Relays. IF -Replace failed relay and test affected
systems for normal operation.
NOSE SENSING LED NOT ILLUMINATED -Replace M1110 nose gnd sensing prox switch (Ref 32-09-20/401). Test affected systems for normal operation. IF -
NOSE SENSING LED REMAINS OFF - Replace S805 nose air sensing prox sensor (Ref 32-09-02/401), and test affected systems for normal operation.
