Put the apex thrust washer (11) between the torsion links.

Install the washer on the end of the lower torsion link (15) with the concave side of the washer against the link.

IF YOU GET THE HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES, FLUSH YOUR EYES WITH WATER AND GET MEDICAL AID. IF YOU EAT OR DRINK THE HYDRAULIC FLUID, GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: USE CLEAN HYDRAULIC FLUID AND CLEAN EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU FILL THE
_______ DAMPER. DIRT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM.
CAUTION:_______DO THIS PRE-FILL STEP. AIR CAN BE TRAPPED IN THE DAMPER IF IT IS NOT FULL OF HYDRAULIC FLUID. THE DAMPER WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY IF AIR IS TRAPPED IN IT.
(3)
Make sure that the damper assembly (13) is full of hydraulic fluid.
(a)
Remove the bleed plugs (16), (17) from the manifold (18).
(b)
Add fluid in the open ports (16) and (17) of the manifold (18) until they are all full.
(c)
Install the bleed plugs (16) and (17) in the manifold (18) ports.
(4)
Turn the inner cylinder.

NOTE: It is necessary to extend the torsion links to turn the inner
____ cylinder. Apply a forward and an aft force to the wheels to extend the torsion links.

(5) Align the ends of the torsion links.

CAUTION: REMOVE ALL UNWANTED MASTINOX FROM ALL THE SURFACES THAT WILL BE
_______ LUBRICATED. IF YOU APPLY MASTINOX TO THE JOINTS THAT TURN, FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR TO EXTEND OR RETRACT CAN OCCUR.

Apply a thin layer of BMS 10-11, Type 1 primer or, as an alternative, BMS 3-27 (MASTINOX) or BMS 3-38 (CORBAN 27L) corrosion inhibiting compound to the items that follow:
(a)
The mating surfaces between the damper assembly (13), and the upper torsion link (1).
NOTE: Make sure the main gear damper shaft has no primer or
____ corrosion inhibiting compound on it.
(b)
To all the areas of the holes for the damper attachment bolts (3), and the damper bracket bolt.
(c)
The threads of the damper attachment bolts (3), and the damper bracket bolt.

Do these steps to install the damper assembly (13):
(a)
Install the damper assembly (13) with the damper piston shaft through the upper torsion link (1), the apex thrust washer (11), and the lower torsion link (15).
