WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DEFLATE THE SHOCK STRUT FULLY BEFORE YOU
_______ LOOSEN THE VALVE BODY. THE AIR PRESSURE CAN BLOWOUT THE VALVE BODY WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
MAKE SURE THAT NO PERSON OR EQUIPMENT ARE BELOW THE AIRPLANE WHILE THE AIRPLANE DESCENDS.
(8)
Compress the shock strut (Fig. 401).
(a)
Remove the dust cap from the air charging valve at the top of the shock strut (Fig. 401).
(b)
Loosen the release nut to one or two turns.
NOTE: You will immediately see bubbles in the fluid in the
____ shock strut when you release the pressure. Deflate the shock strut slowly to prevent the leakage of th fluid through the air valve.
(c)
Deflate and compress the shock strut.
(d)
Install the oleo lock assembly on the main landing gear to keep the shock strut compressed.

(11)
Remove the hydraulic lines from the drag strut (Fig. 402).
(a)
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the top side of the trunnion link on the hydraulic swivel (11) and drain the lines in a container.
(b)
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from their connections on the wheel well ceiling and drain the lines in a container.
(c)
Remove the hydraulic swivel (11) from the trunnion link.
(d)
Remove the door actuator fitting (13).
(e)
Loosen all the clamps (8) which hold the hydraulic lines (7) to the drag strut.

Remove the electrical harness (Fig. 402).
(a)
Disconnect the electrical harness (9) near the top of the trunnion link (10).
(b)
Loosen the clamps (8) for the electrical harness (9) on the upper drag strut.
(c)
Wind the harness into a coil. 1) Attach the harness to the lower drag strut with tape.

(13)
If you do landing gear procedures that do not affect the actuator assembly (12), disconnect the actuator from the actuator walking beam arm and the trunnion pin (AMM 32-32-11/401).
(a)
Put the actuator assembly out of the way of the landing gear.
