MAIN GEAR T-BOLT ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
A. This procedure removes and installs the main gear t-bolt assembly.

Prepare to Remove the T-Bolt Assembly

Make sure that the ground lock pins are installed (Ref 32-00-01).

Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system A (Ref 29-15-00).

Lift the airplane on jacks approximately three inches (Ref 7-11-11).

Remove the T-Bolt Assembly (Fig. 401)

Remove the hydraulic line support from the lower drag strut.

Release the bracket clamp of the electrical harness from the lower drag strut.

Hold the shock strut inner door and disconnect the control rod assembly.
(4)
Safety the shock strut door until it is clear of the work area.

Remove the lower attachment bolt of the side strut from the universal assembly.

Safety the lower end of the upper drag strut until it will not move forward.

Put an axle jack below the inner cylinder of the shock strut.

Lift the inner cylinder if it is necessary to remove the fasteners.

Remove the lower attachment bolt from the upper drag strut.

Remove the nut, the washer, and the support rod of the shock strut door from the T-bolt assembly.

Hold the lower drag strut.

Remove the nut from the bolt which goes through the T-bolt assembly and the shock strut.
