 WARNING:_______ DO NOT LOOSEN THE VALVE BODY UNLESS THE SHOCK STRUT IS FULLY
 DEFLATED.  AIR PRESSURE CAN BLOW OUT THE VALVE BODY WHICH CAN
 CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.  MAKE SURE THAT PERSONNEL AND

 EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE AIRPLANE WHEN IT IS LOWERED.
 (7)
Deflate the shock strut.

 (a)
Remove the dust cap from the charging valve.

 (b)  
Loosen the release valve one or two turns (Fig. 402).

Install the oleo lock assembly of the main gear oleo to keep the shock strut compressed (Fig. 402).

Put a container below the shock strut.

 Remove the check valve.

 Drain the oil from the shock strut.

 NOTE: The arrow on the check valve points up when the check valve

 (13) Lift the airplane on jacks until the tires almost touch the ground to prevent movement of the wheels.
 NOTE: The airplane will be lifted approximately 4 inches

Attach the main landing gear sling (Fig. 401).

Attach the main landing gear sling to the crane.

Lift the gear on the buildup stand (Fig. 403).

 (8)  S 034-023Remove the hydraulic lines and the electrical cables from the shock strut (Fig. 404).
 (9)  S 024-024Remove the upper and lower drag struts (AMM 32-11-31/401 and AMM 32-11-41/401).
