 GROUND LOCK ASSEMBLIES - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  This subject has two tasks, one for the removal/installation of the ground lock assembly and one for the removal/installation of the nose gear steering lockout pin.
 TASK 32-00-01-902-001
 2.  Ground Lock Assembly - Removal/Installation (Fig. 201)___________________________________________
 A.  Special Tools and Equipment

Ground Lock Assembly - F72735

 B.  
Procedure - Install the Gear Ground Lock Assembly


 S 602-010
 WARNING: YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS IN THE DOWN AND
_______ LOCKED POSITION BEFORE YOU TRY TO INSTALL THE GROUND LOCK ASSEMBLY IN THE NOSE LANDING GEAR. IF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR IS NOT IN THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION, THE NOSE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES OR DEATH THE PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  Make sure the nose and main landing gear are all in the down and locked position.

 WARNING: YOU MUST BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE GROUND LOCK ASSEMBLIES
_______ IN THE LANDING GEAR. MAKE SURE OTHER PERSONS DO NOT MOVE THE CONTROL LEVER FOR THE LANDING GEAR TO THE UP POSITION. IF THEY MOVE THE CONTROL LEVER TO THE UP POSITION, THE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE INJURIES OR DEATH THE PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  
Install the gear ground lock assembly as follows:

 (a)
Insert the ground lock assembly in the lock brace.

 (b)
Insert the safety pin in the ground lock assembly.

 C.  
Procedure - Remove the Gear Ground Lock Assembly


 S 022-003
 (1)  
Remove the gear ground lock assembly as follows:

 (a)  
Remove the safety pin from the ground lock assembly that is installed in the landing gear brace.

 (b)  
Pull the ground lock assembly from the lock brace.
