Adjust the Safety Sensor (Fig. 501)

Make sure the ground locks are installed in all the gear (AMM 32-00-01/201).

Lift the nose of the airplane with the jacks until the tires are clear of the ground (AMM 07-11-21/201).

Measure the clearance between the safety sensor and its target.
(a)
If you do not find the clearance that is shown on Fig. 501, do the steps to adjust the sensor.

(4)
Adjust the safety sensor:
(a)
Remove the mounting bolts and remove the sensor from the mounting bracket.
(b)
If the clearance is more than is shown on Fig. 501, replace the shim.
(c)
Remove laminations from the shim to adjust the clearance.
(d)
Install the sensor on its bracket with the mounting bolts.
(5)
Do the task to do a test of the safety sensor.
