Procedure to Remove the Main Landing Gear Trunnion Link

 (1)  
Disconnect the main gear lower side strut (1) from the side strut universal (2), (Fig. 403).
 (a)  
Remove the bolt (5).
 (b)  
Disconnect the lower end of the lower side strut (1) from the side strut universal (2), (Fig. 403). 1) Let the strut hang from the center pivot.

 (2)  
If the right main landing gear is to be removed, disconnect the interlock valve cable of the ground spoiler (AMM 27-62-51/401).

 (3)  
Remove the downlock springs (1), (Fig. 404).
 (a)  
Decrease the spring load on the attachment points of the downlock springs (1), (Fig. 404). 1) Attach a cord to the inboard end of the downlock spring (1)
 and put it over the uplock support shaft (5).
 2) Pull the cord to extend the downlock springs (1).
 (b)  
3 Disconnect the downlock springs (1) from their outboard attachments (Fig. 404).

 (4)  
Disconnect the reaction link universal (3) from the trunnion pin (6), (Fig. 404).
 (a)  
Put the reaction link (4) in a position so that it does not touch the shock strut.

 (5)  Disconnect the trunnion link (7) from the shock strut (3), 
 (Fig. 406). 
 (a)  Put chocks on the aft side of the wheels, (Stage 1, Fig. 405). 
 (b)  Hold the gear in position by hand. 
 (c)  Remove the antirotation bolt (1) from the actuator walking beam 
 arm (2), (Fig. 406). 
 (d)  Remove the nuts and the washers from the trunnion pin 
 lockbolts (4). 
 (e)  Use an adapter wrench and remove the trunnion pin nut (6). 
 (f)  Remove the retainer washer (5) and the special washer (5A) from 
 the trunnion pin (9). 
 (g)  Install the thread protector (8) on the trunnion pin (9). 
 (h)  Remove the trunnion pin (9) with light hits from a lead hammer. 
 (i)  Remove the actuator walking beam arm (2) and move the trunnion 
 link (7) clear of the shock strut (3).

 (6)  Disconnect the trunnion link (9) from the drag strut (4), 
 (Fig. 407). 
 (a)  Remove the drag strut upper bolt (5). 
 (b)  Disconnect the top end of the drag strut (4) from the trunnion 
 link (9).
