 CAUTION: REMOVE UNWANTED MASTINOX FROM SURFACES WHICH WILL BE

 Apply one of the materials that follows to the mating surfaces of the main gear damper (17) and the upper torsion link (5) immediately before you install the main gear damper (17):

 (a)  
BMS 10-11, Type I primer, or

 (b)  
As an alternative, BMS 3-27 (MASTINOX) or BMS 3-38 (CORBAN 27L) corrosion inhibiting compound.

 (17) Install the main gear damper (17) in the upper torsion link (5) with the piston shaft through the apex washer (15) and the lower torsion link (23).
 NOTE: Make sure the main gear damper piston shaft has no

 primer or corrosion inhibiting compound on it.

 Install the damper bracket (6) and all the damper attach bolts (7).
