 A.  This procedure gives the steps to remove and install the main gear upper drag strut (referred to as the upper drag strut).

 2.  Remove the Main Gear Upper Drag Strut (Fig. 401)_____________________________________

Prepare for the Removal of the Upper Drag Strut

 S 844-002
 (1)  
Make sure that all the ground lockpins (AMM 32-00-01/201) are installed.

 S 844-003

 (2)
Lift the airplane on jacks until the wheels are off the ground.

 E.  
Remove the Upper Drag Strut

 S 034-004
 (1)  
Release the clamps (6) that attach the center wing door (5) to the upper drag strut (3).

 S 034-005

 (2)  
Release the clamps (9) that attach the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness to the upper drag strut (3).

 (3)  
Remove the lower attach bolt (13).

 (4)
Let the upper drag strut hang from the upper attach bolt (4).

 (5)  
Hold the upper drag strut.

 (6)  
Remove the upper attach bolt (2).

 (7)  
Remove the upper drag strut from the airplane.
