CAUTION:_______DO NOT LUBRICATE THE PACKING (13) WITH ENGINE OIL. ENGINE OIL CAN DAMAGE OR CHANGE THE SHAPE OF THE PACKING.
(d)
Install the new packing (13) on the rate sensor (4).
(e)
Attach the rate sensor (4) and bracket (2) to the load compressor scroll housing with the two bolts (1). 1) Tighten the two bolts (1) to 36-40 inch-pounds (4.1-4.5
newton-meters).
(f)
Attach the rate sensor (4) and bracket (2) to the load compressor scroll housing with the washer (12) and bolt (5). 1) Tighten the bolt (5) to 36-40 inch-pounds (4.1-4.5
newton-meters).
(g)
Connect the pressure tube (7) to the elbow (8).
1) While you hold the pressure tube (7) and its tee, tighten the coupling nut on the pressure tube to 270-300 inch-pounds (30.5-33.9 newton-meters).
2) Tighten the nut (9) to 70-80 inch-pounds (7.9-9.0 newton-meters).
(h) Connect the tube assembly (sense line) (18) to the elbow (17). 1) Tighten the coupling nut on the tube assembly (sense line) (18) to 90-100 inch-pounds (10.2-11.3 newton-meters).
2) Tighten the nut (16) to 36-40 inch-pounds (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).
D. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT

(2)
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 overhead panel.

(3)
Close the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:
(a)
Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the right access door.
(b)
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.
(c)
Lift the right access door until you can install the lanyard on the pin at the aft APU compartment bulkhead.
NOTE: The lanyard will hold the right access door on the APU

compartment bulkhead.

Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the left access door.
(e)
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.
(f)
Make sure the insulation covers are correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(g)
Lift the left access door until the two APU access doors are approximately aligned.
(h)
Close the two APU access doors.
(i)
Close the six latches on the right access door.

A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
A removal of the P3 air filter element
(2)
An installation of the P3 air filter element.
B.
The P3 air filter element is installed in the air filter cover. The air filter cover is located on the bottom right side of the gas generator housing.
