Thermocouple Trim Box (Fig. 1)

 A.  The T6 trim unit incorporates a number of resistors and jumpers. The APU controller reads the resistance and calculates the appropriate trim. There are 32 trim steps available. The trim unit is mounted on the aft face of the inlet plenum.
Air Temperature Sensors (Fig. 1)

 A.  There are three air temperature sensors (T1, T12 and T13) mounted on the APU. The inlet temperature (T1) sensor and thermocouple cold junction assembly is mounted on the intake plenum. The T1 sensor is a three-wire type platinum RTD sensor and is sheathed. The thermocouple cold junctions are mounted alongside the T1 sensor inside the same sheath. The copper wires provide a T6-T2 signal to the APU controller and the thermocouple wires are connected to the T6 busbars. The load compressor inlet temperature (T12) sensor is a two-wire, nickel element RTD type sensor. The T12 sensor is mounted in the bottom of the inlet plenum. The load compressor air delivery temperature (T13) sensor is mounted in the air delivery duct. The T13 sensor is a three-wire platinum RTD sensor. It is used to monitor load compressor discharge temperature to ensure that safe operation levels are not exceeded.
