 (b)  
Open the APU access doors.

 (c)  
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

 (4)  
Drain the APU oil tank (Ref 12-22-02/301).

 (5)  
Disconnect or remove the tubes from the oil pump (Fig. 401).

 (a)
Disconnect the scavenge tube (12) from the oil pump (20):


 1)  Remove the nuts (13), the washers (18), and the brackets (15 and 17) that attach the tube (12) to the oil pump (20).
 NOTE: Keep the brackets (15 and 17) attached to the
____ drain tube for the fuel pump and the FMU vent tube.
 2) Disconnect the scavenge tube (12) from the oil pump (20). 3) Remove the packing (19). a) Discard the packing (19).
 (b)  
Remove the nuts (8) that attach the oil scavenge tube (6) to the oil pump (20) housing. 1) Disconnect the oil scavenge tube (6) from the oil pump (20)

 housing.
 2) Remove the packing (7).
 3) Discard the packing (7).


 (c)  
Disconnect the oil tube (10) from the oil pump (20) housing. 1) Remove the packings (9 and 11). 2) Discard the packings (9 and 11).

 (d)  
Loosen the coupling nut (25) that attaches the drain tube (24) to the drain valve on the gas generator housing.

 (e)  
Loosen the coupling nut (26) that attaches the drain tube (24) to the drain tube bracket.

 (f)  
Move the drain tube (24) forward.

 (g)  
Disconnect the coupling nut (44), on the starter drain tube (43), from the reducer (45).


 NOTE:____The reducer is on the reduction gearbox. It can be necessary to disconnect other drain tubes from the drain tube bracket to give clearance for the pump removal.

 (h)  
Remove the reducer (45) from the reduction gearbox.
 1) Remove the packing (42).
 2) Discard the packing (42).


 (i)  
Remove the nuts (31) and the washers (30) that attach the retainer plate (29) to the load gearbox (27).

 (j)  
Remove the retainer plate (29).

 (k)  
Remove the oil transfer tube (40): 1) Move the oil transfer tube (40) into the load gearbox (27) until the other end comes out of the oil pump (20). 2) Move the oil transfer tube (40) to one side and remove it from the load gearbox (27).

 3)  Remove the packings (28 and 41).
 a) Discard the packings (28 and 41).


 (l)  
Remove the oil transfer tube (39): 1) Move the oil transfer tube (39) into the load gearbox (27) until the other end comes out of the oil pump (20). 2) Move the oil transfer tube (39) to one side and remove it from the load gearbox (27).

 3)  Remove the packings (28A and 41A). a) Discard the packings (28A and 41A).

 (m)  
Use the snap ring pliers to remove the retainer ring (23) from the groove in the pressure pump tube (22).

 (n)  
Move the pressure pump tube (22) into the oil filter coupling tube (1) until it is free from the oil pump (20).

 (o)  
Use the snap ring pliers to remove the retainer ring (3) from the groove in the pressure valve tube (2).

 (p)  
Move the pressure valve tube (2) into the oil filter coupling tube (1) until it is free from the oil pump (20).
