Install the breather adapter (2) in the PWC 41445 support.
(g)
Remove the carbon seal (1) from the APU oil.
(h)
Use the drift to install the carbon seal (1) into the breather adapter (2).

Install the breather adapter (1) (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the new packings (5), lubricated with engine oil, on the transfer tube (2).
(b)
Install the transfer tube (2) in the vent tube adapter (3) on the accessory gearbox (4). 1) Make sure the flow arrow on the tube (2) points to the
breather adapter (1).
(c)
Install the new packing (6), lubricated with engine oil, on the breather adapter (1).
(d)
Install the breather adapter (1) on the end of the transfer tube (2).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE CARBON SEAL CORRECTLY ALIGNS WITH THE
_______ GEARBOX HOUSING DURING THE INSTALLATION. LEAKAGE OF THE SEAL CAN OCCUR IF THE SEAL DOES NOT ALIGN CORRECTLY.
(e)
Install the breather adapter (1) on the accessory gearbox (4).
1) Make sure the carbon seal correctly aligns with the gearbox housing when you install the adapter.
(f)
Install the two washers (7) and the nuts (8). 1) Tighten nuts (8) to 32-36 pound-inches (3.6-4.0 N.m).
(g)
Install the flexible hose (10) on the breather adapter (1). 1) Tighten the clamp (9).
(3)
Do this task: "Fill the APU Oil Tank" (Ref 12-22-02/301).
(4)
Do this task: "Start and Operate the APU" (Ref 49-11-00/201).
(5)
During the APU operation, examine the engine for oil leakage.

MAIN DRIVESHAFT OIL SEAL - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
A removal of the main driveshaft oil seal
(2)
An installation of the main driveshaft oil seal.
B.
The main driveshaft oil seal or plain seal is referred to as the oil seal.
C.
The oil seal is installed on the main driveshaft assembly of the accessory gearbox. You can get access to the oil seal through the two APU access doors.
