Install the plain seal (1) into the load gearbox housing. 1) Make sure the lip on the seal (1) points to the rear of the
APU. 2) Make sure the seal (1) is installed correctly.

Install the retainer ring (2).

(b) The QAD ring for the APU generator (Ref 24-21-02/401).
(3) S 434-022Connect the coupling that attaches the air exhaust duct on the generator to the upper air exhaust duct.
(4) S 864-023Remove the electrical power from the airplane (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(5) S 434-024Connect the electrical plugs for the applicable generator: (a) Generator No. 1 1) DG2A 2) DG2B (b) Generator No. 2 1) DG3A 2) DG3B
(6) S 864-025Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 panel.
(7) S 864-026Start and operate the APU for 10-15 minutes at a stable speed with no load applied (Ref 49-11-00/201).
(8) S 794-027During the APU operation, examine the engine for leakage.
(9) S 414-028Close the APU access doors: (a) Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars: 1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged. 2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars. 3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.

Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
(d)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(e)
Close the APU access doors.
(f)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the tasks for the removal and the installation for the oil seal on the gear shaft assembly for the fuel pump drive.
B. The seal is in the accessory gearbox on the aft end of the gear shaft assembly that operates the fuel pump. You can get access to the oil seal through the APU access doors.
