CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT HIT THE AIR INLET PLENUM WITH YOUR HANDS
_______ OR YOUR TOOLS. DAMAGE TO THE AIR INLET PLENUM CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY.
_______ IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS, DAMAGE TO THE APU CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Do these steps to install the serial number identification unit (5):
(a)
If the serial number identification unit (5) is a new or a different serviceable part, do this task: Serial Number Identification Unit Calibration (Par. 4).
(b)
Put the serial number identification unit (5) on the air inlet plenum with the washer (1) and bolt (2).
(c)
Install the ground strap (4) on the serial number identification unit (5) with the washer (1) and bolt (2).
(d)
Tighten the two bolts (2) to 36-40 inch-pounds (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).
(e)
Do these steps to connect the electrical connector D95012 (P12)
(3)
to the serial number identification unit (5):
1) Connect the electrical connector D95012 (P12) (3) to the serial number identification unit (5).

2) Tighten the coupling ring on the electrical connector D95012 (P12) (3) until the electrical connector is at the bottom of the receptacle and the connection is tight.
3) Make sure the electrical connection is not loose when you move the APU harness.
E. Serial Number Identification Unit Installation Test

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT
