CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY.
_______ IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS, DAMAGE TO THE APU CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Do these steps to install the diverter valve muffler (5):
(a)
Install the clamp (6) loosely on the diverter valve muffler (5).
(b)
Install the two coupling clamps (4) loosely on the flanges of the diverter valve and exhaust duct.
(c)
While you hold the diverter valve muffler (5), align the locating pin on the diverter valve muffler with the hole on the exhaust duct flange and install the diverter valve muffler.

Install the coupling clamp (4) on the flanges of the diverter valve muffler (5) and exhaust duct. 1) Tighten the nut on the coupling clamp (4) to 70-84
inch-pounds (7.9-9.5 newton-meters).
(e)
While you hold the diverter valve muffler (5), install the coupling clamp (4) on the flanges of the diverter valve muffler and diverter valve. 1) Tighten the nut on the coupling clamp (4) to 70-84
inch-pounds (7.9-9.5 newton-meters).
(f)
Lightly tap the edge of the two coupling clamps (4) with a rubber mallet.
(g)
Tighten the two nuts to 100-120 inch-pounds (11.3-13.6 newton-meters) and lightly tap the edge of the two coupling clamps (4) again until the torque value stays constant.
(h)
Put the clamp (6) over this marking "clamp here" and install the clamp to the bracket (2) with the bolt (3) and nut (1). 1) Tighten the nut (1) to 36-40 inch-pounds (4.1-4.5
