Fuel Pump Outlet Filter Element Removal

Do these steps to remove the outlet filter element (7):
(a)
Put the container below the fuel pump (1).
(b)
Disconnect the electrical connector D95003 (P3) (9) from the fuel filter bypass indicator on the filter cover (10).
(c)
Remove the filter cover (10) and outlet filter element (7).
(d)
Remove the two packings (6) and packing (8) from the outlet filter element (7) and filter cover (10). 1) Discard the two packings (6), packing (8) and outlet filter
element (7).
(e)
Make sure you install all necessary protection covers.
(f)
Remove the container.

CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY.
_______ IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS, DAMAGE TO THE APU CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Do these steps to install the outlet filter element (7):
(a)
Lubricate the two new packings (6) and new packing (8) with a light coat of lubricant or oil.
(b)
Install the two packings (6) on the new outlet filter element (7).
(c)
Use the packing assembly tool or an equivalent tool to install the packing (8) on the filter cover (10).
(d)
Install the outlet filter element (7) in the port of the fuel pump housing.
(e)
Install the filter cover (10) on the port of the fuel pump housing. 1) Tighten the filter cover (10) to 200-250 inch-pounds
(22.6-28.3 newton-meters). 2) Install a lockwire on the filter cover (10) and fuel filter bypass indicator.
(f)
Do these steps to connect the electrical connector D95003 (P3)

to the fuel filter bypass indicator on the filter cover (10): 1) Connect the electrical connector D95003 (P3) (9) to the
fuel filter bypass indicator on the filter cover (10).
2) Tighten the coupling ring on the electrical connector D95003 (P3) (9) until the electrical connector is at the bottom of the receptacle and the connection is tight.
