Do these steps to remove the ignition exciter (3):
(a)
Remove the four bolts (2) that attach the ground strap (6) and ignition exciter (3) to the bracket (5).
(b)
Remove the ignition exciter (3).
(c)
Make sure you install all necessary protection covers.

CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY.
_______ IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS, DAMAGE TO THE APU CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Do these steps to install the ignition exciter (3):
(a)
Install the ignition exciter (3) on the bracket (5) with the three bolts (2).
(b)
Install the ground strap (6) on the ignition exciter (3) with the bolt (2).
(c)
Tighten the four bolts (2) to 36-40 inch-pounds (4.1-4.5 newton-meters).

CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE LUBRICANT TOUCH THE CONDUCTORS IN THE TWO
_______ IGNITION CABLES. A HIGH RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE TWO IGNITER PLUGS AND IGNITION EXCITER WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE TWO IGNITION CABLES.
(d)
Lightly apply the spray lubricant to the seal seat area at the ends of the two ignition cables.
(e)
Connect the two ignition cables (1) to the ignition exciter (3).
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE BRAIDS OR FERRULES OF THE TWO IGNITION
_______ CABLES MOVE WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE TWO COUPLING NUTS. DAMAGE TO THE TWO IGNITION CABLES CAN OCCUR.
1) Tighten the two coupling nuts with your fingers plus 1/8 of a turn.
(f)
Do these steps to connect the electrical connector D95006 (P6)
(4)
to the ignition exciter (3): 1) Connect the electrical connector D95006 (P6) (4) to the ignition exciter (3).
2) Tighten the coupling ring on the electrical connector D95006 (P6) (4) until the electrical connector is at the bottom of the receptacle and the connection is tight.
3) Make sure the electrical connection is not loose when you move the APU harness.
E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
