 compressor diffuser duct for signs of air leakage. 4) Do this task: APU Usual Shutdown (AMM 49-11-00/201). 5) If you find air leakage, do the leakage repair again.
 (l)  Do this task: APU Oil Tank Replenishing (AMM 12-13-02/301).

If you find no air leakage, then the APU is satisfactory.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)  
Close the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:

 (a)  
Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the right access door.

 (b)  
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.

 (c)  
Lift the right access door until you can install the lanyard on the pin at the aft APU compartment bulkhead.


 NOTE: The lanyard will hold the right access door on the APU
____
 compartment bulkhead.

 (d)  
Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the left access door.

 (e)  
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.

 (f)  
Make sure the insulation covers are correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.

 (g)  
Lift the left access door until the two APU access doors are approximately aligned.

 (h)  
Close the two APU access doors.

 (i)  
Close the six latches on the right access door.

 LOAD GEARBOX FRONT HOUSING - REPAIRS

 1.  General_______
 A.  The front housing of the load gearbox has intumescent paint on an anodized finish. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is a touch-up procedure for the anodized finish. The secound task is to repair the intumescent paint.
 B.  If there is separation of the intumescent paint, it is recommended that you do the repair procedure for the intumescent paint. Intumescent paint that has separated from the front housing of the load gearbox can remove the anodized coating. If the separation of the intumescent paint has removed the anodized finish, you must do the touch-up procedure for the anodized finish.
 C.  The front housing of the load gearbox is on the forward lower section of the APU.
 D.  You can get access to the front housing through the APU access doors.

Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
