Remove the APU diverter valve (3):
(a)
Disconnect the P3 tubes (5 and 10) from the nipples (6 and 9).
(b)
Remove the two clamps (4).
(c)
Remove the three cotter pins (12) and the three straight pins (11) that attach the three links (13) to the diverter valve adapter (1).
(d)
Move the diverter valve adapter (1) forward.
(e)
Remove the diverter valve (3). 1) Remove and discard the two packings (2).

(1)
Install the nipples on the diverter valve:
(a)
Install the new packings (7 and 8) on the nipples (6 and 9).

(b) Install the nipples (6 and 9) on the diverter valve (3).
1) Tighten the nipples (6 and 9) to 110-120 pound-inches (12.4-13.6 N.m).

Install the diverter valve (3):
(a)
Install two new packings (2) on the diverter valve (3).
(b)
Install the diverter valve (3) in its position.
(c)
Move the diverter valve adapter (1) aft.
(d)
Install the two clamps (4) 180 degrees apart. 1) Make sure the slots on the clamps (4) are engaged. 2) Tighten the clamp nuts to 100-120 pound-inches (11.3-13.6
N.m).
(e)
Align the three links (12) with the lugs on the diverter valve adapter (1).
(f)
Attach the three links (12) with the three straight pins (10) and the three cotter pins (11).
(g)
Connect the P3 tubes (5 and 10) to the nipples (6 and 9).
1) Tighten the tubes (5 and 10) to 200-220 pound-inches (22.6-24.9 N.m).

Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars:
1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged.
2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars.
3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
(b)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
(d)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(e)
Close the APU access doors.
(f)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.
