A. APU fuel flow is controlled by the APU controller in conjunction with the fuel metering unit (FMU). Pressurized fuel from the fuel pump flows through an adapter plate to the FMU. The APU controller provides control signals to the stepper motor and metering valve, in the FMU, to regulate fuel flow in response to load demands. Metered fuel is supplied to the combustion chamber through a fuel flow divider and dump valve together with independent distribution manifolds radially arranged around the gas generator case. The flow divider distributes the flow between primary and secondary fuel nozzles projected into the combustion chamber. Any residual fuel after shutdown is drained by drain valves located at the bottom of the gas generator case. Pressurized fuel is supplied to the inlet guide vane (IGV) actuator control and the diverter valve control to be used as hydraulic fluid. Fuel through the fuel cooled oil cooler (FCOC) maintains oil temperature in the lubrication system feed line within operating limits by heat exchange with high pressure fuel.
