INNER EXHAUST DUCT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the tasks for the removal and the installation of the inner exhaust duct.
B. The duct assembly is referred to as the inner exhaust duct.
C. The inner exhaust duct is in the outer exhaust duct. The inner exhaust duct can be removed with the outer exhaust duct in the airplane. You can get access to the inner exhaust duct through the APU access doors and at the exhaust duct outlet.

Open the APU access doors.
(c)
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

CAUTION:_______DO NOT OPERATE THE APU WITH THE ACOUSTIC LINING REMOVED. THE OPERATION WITHOUT AN ACOUSTIC LINING WILL NOT LET THE HEAT DECREASE SUFFICIENTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE STRUCTURE.

Remove the inner exhaust duct (3):
(a)
Remove the nuts, the washers, and the bolts that attach the acoustic lining (2) to the inner exhaust duct (3).
