D. Procedure

CAUTION:_______DO NOT HIT THE INLET PLENUM WITH YOUR HANDS OR TOOLS. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET PLENUM. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INLET PLENUM, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO REPLACE IT.
(1)
Install the T1/T6 sensor (3).
(a)
Install a new gasket (4) on the T1/T6 sensor (2).
(b)
Put the T1/T6 sensor (2) on the inlet plenum.
(c)
Install the two bolts (3) on the T1/T6 sensor (2).
1) Tighten the bolts (3) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.0-4.6 newton-meters).
(d)
Install the cable clamps (15) on the sensor cable.
(e)
Attach the clamps (15) to mounting brackets with bolts (12), washers (13), spacers (16), and nuts (14). 1) Tighten the nuts to 36-40 pound-inches (4.0-4.6
newton-meters).
(f)
Attach the end of the negative thermocouple wire (8) to the negative bus bar (9) with the bolt (5A), the washer (6A), and the nut (7A).
NOTE: On P/N 3900063 sensors the negative thermocouple
____ wire is white. On P/N 3900456 sensors the negative thermocouple wire is green.
1) Tighten the nut (7A) to 26-30 pound-inches (3.0-3.4 newton-meters).
(g) Attach the end of the positive thermocouple wire (10) to the positive bus bar (11) with the bolt (5), the washer (6), and the nut (7).
NOTE: On P/N 3900063 sensors the positive thermocouple
____ wire is green. On P/N 3900456 sensors the positive thermocouple wire is white.
1) Tighten the nut (7) to 18-20 pound-inches (2.0-2.2 newton-meters).

Remove the dust caps from the electrical connector (1).
(i)
Connect the P10 (1) connector to the T1/T6 sensor (2) and tighten with your hand.
NOTE: The connector is fully tightened when you cannot see the
____
red color band.

Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars:
1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged.
2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars.
3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
(b)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips on the inner side of the APU access doors.
