Pull the acoustic lining (3) aft and remove the lining.

Remove the bolts (5), the washers (7 and 9), the bushings (6), and the nuts (8) that attach the inner exhaust duct (3) to the outer exhaust duct (1).
(d)
Move the inner exhaust duct (3) aft and remove it from the outer exhaust duct (1).

Install the inner exhaust duct (3):
(a)
Put the inner exhaust duct (3) in the outer exhaust duct (1).

Install the bolts (5), the washers (7 and 9), the bushings (6), and the nuts (8) that attach the inner duct (3) to the outer duct (1). 1) Tighten the nuts (8) to 360-440 pound-inches (40.7-49.7
N.m).
(c)
Put the acoustic lining (2) in the inner exhaust duct (3).
(d)
Attach the acoustic lining (2) to the inner exhaust duct (3) with the bolts, the nuts, and the washers. 1) Install lockwires on the nuts.

Close the APU access doors:
(a)
Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars:
1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged.
2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars.
3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
(b)
Disengage the support rods for the APU access doors.
(c)
Put the support rods in the clips in the inner side of the APU access doors.
(d)
Make sure the insulation covers correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(e)
Close the APU access doors.
(f)
Close the latches on the APU access doors.

INNER EXHAUST DUCT - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. Inner exhaust duct can move apart from the outer exhaust duct if the bolts and bushings that attach them are worn. This procedure contains the task to measure the bushings for signs of damage.
B. To get access to the inner exhaust duct, you must remove the acoustic lining. After the acoustic lining is removed, you must go through the exhaust outlet at the aft end of the airplane.
