Make sure the APU control switch on the P5 panel is OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P6 Main Power Supply Panel
 1) 6K18 APU ALTN CONT

 (b)  
P83 Panel, E8 Aft Equipment Center
 1) APU PRIMARY CONT

Open the APU access doors:

Open the latches on the APU access doors.

 (b)  
Open the APU access doors.

 (c)  
Engage the support rods for the APU access doors.

Remove the IGV actuator (5):

 (a)  
Disconnect the P17 electrical connector (7) from the IGV actuator (5). 1) Install caps on the connector (7) and the receptacle to

 prevent contamination.

 (b)  
Disconnect the fuel supply line (2) and the return line (1) from the IGV actuator (5). 1) Install caps on the lines (1 and 2) to prevent

 contamination.

 (c)  
Loosen the fuel supply line (2) and the return line (1) at the tee connectors.

 (d)  
Turn the lines (1 and 2) until they point down.

 (e)  
Disconnect the flexible drain line (10) from the IGV actuator (5). 1) Install a cap on the drain line (10) to prevent

 contamination.

 (f)  
Remove the nut (18), the washers (17), and the bolt (16) that attach the actuator rod (12) to the connector rod (15).

 (g)  
Remove the nuts (8) and the washers (6) that connect the IGV actuator (5) to the compressor case.

 (h)  
Remove the IGV actuator (5).

Remove the nipples from the IGV actuator (5):

 (a)  
Remove the nipples (3) from the IGV actuator (5) housing. 1) Remove and discard the packings (4).

 (b)  
Remove the nipple (9) from the IGV actuator (5) housing. 1) Remove and discard the packing (11).
