Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6K18, APU ALTN CONT
(b)
P83 Aft APU Equipment Control and Circuit Breaker Panel 1) APU PRIME CONT

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the APU control switch on the P5 overhead panel.

(3)
Close the left APU access door, 317AL, and right APU access door, 318AR:
(a)
Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the right access door.
(b)
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the right APU compartment bulkhead.
(c)
Lift the right access door until you can install the lanyard on the pin at the aft APU compartment bulkhead.
NOTE: The lanyard will hold the right access door on the
____
APU compartment bulkhead.

Remove the two quick-release pins, disconnect the two hold-open rods and put the two hold-open rods in the two clips on the left access door.
(e)
Install the two quick-release pins in the two brackets on the left APU compartment bulkhead.
(f)
Make sure the insulation covers are correctly attach to the APU compartment firewall.
(g)
Lift the left access door until the two APU access doors are approximately aligned.
(h)
Close the two APU access doors.
(i)
Close the six latches on the right access door.

DIVERTER VALVE MUFFLER - CLEANING/PAINTING

1. General_______
A. This procedure gives the steps to clean the diverter valve muffler. The muffler must be removed for the procedure. The diverter vavle muffler is on the lower aft section of the engine. You can get access to the diverter valve muffler through the APU access doors.

(1) Remove the diverter valve muffler (AMM 49-52-05/401).

WARNING:_______DO NOT GET SOLVENT IN YOUR MOUTH, OR EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE SOLVENT. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE SOLVENT. KEEP SOLVENT AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. THE SOLVENT IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2)
Use a solvent with a lint free cloth to clean the inner and outer surfaces of the diverter valve muffler.
(3)
Let the diverter valve muffler dry completely.
(4)
Install the diverter valve muffler (AMM 49-52-05/401).
