Procedure


 S 424-047
 (1)  
Install the plain seal (6):

 (a)  
Lubricate the plain seal (6), the accessory gearbox housing (5), and the spur gear shaft with engine oil.

 (b)  
Put the plain seal (6) in its position.

 (c)  
Install the retainer ring (7).


 S 414-025
 (2)  
Install the fuel pump/FMU assembly (3):

 (a)  
Put the fuel pump/FMU assembly (3) in its position on the accessory gearbox (5).

 (b)  
Hold the fuel pump/FMU assembly (3) against the accessory gearbox (5).

 (c)  
Install the bracket (12) on the stud at the bottom right corner of the accessory gearbox (5).

 (d)
Install the three washers (2) and the four nuts (1 and 14).

 1)  Tighten nuts (1 and 14) to 150-170 pound-inches (17-19 newton-meters).

 (e)  
Hold the three loop clamps (8 and 16) against the flat bracket (13) on the fuel metering adapter.

 (f)  
Install the bolts (4) and the nut (18). 1) Tighten the nut (18) to 36-40 pound-inches (4.1-4.5 N.m).

 (3)  
Connect these tubes:

 (a)  
The fuel supply tube (9) to the nipple in the fuel supply port of the fuel pump. 1) Tighten the coupling nut to 900-1000 pound-inches (102-113

 newton-meters).

 (b)  
The fuel drain line (22) to the elbow on the drain port of the fuel pump. 1) Tighten the coupling nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34

 newton-meters).

 (c)  
The fuel return tube (15) to the nipple in the fuel return port on the fuel metering adapter. 1) Tighten the coupling nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34

 newton-meters).

 (d)  
The fuel pressure tube (11) to the elbow in the fuel pressure port of the fuel metering adapter. 1) Tighten the coupling nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34

 newton-meters).

 (e)
The fuel supply tube (21) to the fuel supply port on the FMU.

 1)  Tighten the coupling nut to 90-100 pound-inches (10-11 newton-meters).

 (f)  
The flow divider tube (20) to the elbow at the flow divider port on the FMU. 1) Tighten the coupling nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34

 newton-meters).

 (g)  
The FMU vent tube (19) to the reducer at the FMU vent port on the fuel pump/FMU assembly (3). 1) Tighten the coupling nut to 270-300 pound-inches (31-34


 newton-meters).

 (4)  S 434-052Connect these electrical connectors: (a) The P4 electrical connector (17) to the FMU electrical connector on the fuel pump/FMU assembly (3).
 NOTE:____ The connector is fully tight when you cannot see the red color band.
 (b)  The P3 electrical connector (10) to the filter bypass indicator on the fuel pump/FMU assembly (3).
 NOTE:____ The connector is fully tight when you cannot see the red color band.
 (5)  S 614-036Do this task:  "Fill the APU Oil Tank" (Ref 12-22-02/301).
 (6)  S 864-039Start and operate the APU for 10-15 minutes with no load applied (Ref 49-11-00/201).
 (7)  S 794-049During the APU operation, examine the oil seal on the fuel pump for leakage. (a) The maximum permitted oil leakage from the oil seal on the fuel pump is 1.0 cc for each hour.
 (8)  S 414-050Close the APU access doors: (a) Do a visual check of the EGT bus bars: 1) Make sure the bus bars are not damaged. 2) Make sure no metal parts touch the bus bars. 3) Make sure the bus bars do not touch each other.
